The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, met on Wednesday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Doha, where the two leaders discussed strategic and regional relations.

On a one-day working visit, Erdogan arrived today in Doha from Kuwait, where he offered condolences to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on the death of the late Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The Qatar News Agency said that the Emir of Qatar and the Turkish President discussed strategic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, in addition to other issues of common interest.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting took place at the Sea Palace in the Qatari capital, and lasted for an hour and 10 minutes, then the two leaders went to have a lunch.

Erdogan was received at Doha International Airport by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khaled Al-Attiyah, and a number of the country's officials.

The Turkish President is accompanied on his visit by the Ministers of Treasury and Finance Barat Albayrak, Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasaboglu, Defense Hulusi Akar, Head of the Intelligence Service Hakan Fidan, President of the Presidential Communication Department Fakhruddin Alton, and Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalan.
