07 October 2020 He died today, at the age of 50, after wearing the uniform of the Italian army as a soldier in Somalia and Kosovo and then after fighting against the disease contracted right in the theaters of war, but above all against those who did not want to accept that that evil had been caused by depleted uranium.

Marco Diana, the ex-marshal of the Villamassargia Army, in Sulcis, was hospitalized at the Monserrato Polyclinic for a couple of days, who for years was at the center of an exhausting battle.

A few years after the missions abroad he had been diagnosed with cancer of the lymphatic system and subsequently recognized the cause of service and therefore his pension, but before obtaining compensation he had to fight for a long time against the bureaucracy and against that State that , according to him, he had abandoned him.

In 2013 from his facebook page he announced that he had to sell the house to pay for his treatment, an appeal-complaint that went around Italy. Tonight on that same facebook page, as soon as the news of his death spread, many messages appeared from friends, relatives but also from many other people who wanted to greet him for the last time.
