“I discussed this situation with the Russian Foreign Minister, I also discussed this situation with the Turkish Foreign Minister,” Borrell is quoted by TASS.
He noted that Russia and Turkey are key regional players, and stressed that they need to avoid rhetoric and actions that could fuel conflict.
Borrell also said that he spoke with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Earlier, the European Union decided to provide emergency humanitarian aid to the population on both sides of the contact line in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
