Al-Jazeera obtained photos of a trial held by the UAE-backed Transitional Council of a number of soldiers in the Yemeni army, who were arrested more than two years ago.

The arrested soldiers during the trial said that they had been subjected to disappearance and torture in the prisons of the Saudi-Emirati coalition in Bir Ahmed, Aden, more than 2.5 years ago.

The Yemeni soldiers detained by the Southern Transitional Council denied all charges brought against them by the Public Prosecution, which is under the control of this Emirati-backed council.

They also revealed the death of a number of their colleagues in prisons in Aden, as a result of being tortured under the supervision of Emirati military leaders.

Sources told Al-Jazeera that Yemeni army members were arrested after the confrontations with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Militants in Aden in January 2018.
