Shortly before one in the morning on Wednesday, a hundred firefighters and 30 devices were still mobilized against the flames, in a semi-industrial area near the Saint-Pierre cemetery, to the east of the city.

The marine firefighters, called on site around 11:10 p.m., were notably equipped with a dozen fire hoses with a capacity of 1,000 liters per second each.

Guardians out of danger

Explosions were heard, "probably paint cans or aerosols" present among the furniture stored in this depot, according to the spokesperson for the marine firefighters.

Evacuated and examined by the emergency services on the spot, the three site guards were not hit by the flames or by the heavy smoke released by the disaster.
