06 October 2020The Parisian fairy tale of Martina Trevisan, # 159 in the world, ends in the quarter-finals.

The last obstacle, the 19-year-old Iga Swiatek, n.54 WTA, fresh from the 'shampoo' made in the second round at the n.1 Halep (who collected just three games), proves insurmountable: on the 'Philippe Chatrier', the Polish wins easy 6-3 6-1 in one hour and eighteen minutes of play.

The Tuscan starts well, breaks immediately and goes 3-1, but it is only an illusion: from there her rival increases the laps, puts in six consecutive games and closes the first game.

The second set is without history, dominated by the Polish.

The 26-year-old from Florence still closes an unforgettable Roland Garros: she started from the qualifications and reached the main draw, in which she sank Giorgi, Gauff, Sakkari and Bertens in series, and above all the last two were not 'any' victories.

With this result, Trevisan will enter the Top100 for the first time in her career, the second blue to reach the quarters in Paris after Sara Errani in 2015.
