"Beaujolais nouveau" Transported to Japan without using an aircraft due to environmental considerations October 7, 4:41

By transporting the new French wine Beaujolais nouveau to Japan by rail or ship, which emits less carbon dioxide than aircraft, efforts have begun to market it as an environmentally friendly wine.

Beaujolais Nouveau is a wine made from grapes harvested that year in the Beaujolais district of central France and is usually shipped to Japan by air.

However, due to the decrease in airmail due to the influence of the new coronavirus and the fact that the harvest was earlier than usual due to the good weather, some producers are preparing for the opening day of the ban on 19th next month. I decided to transport it to Japan by rail and ship.

Compared to air transportation, carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by more than 90%, and transportation costs can be reduced to about one-third.

Producers were immediately busy with shipping work, putting labels that appealed to them as environmentally friendly and bringing them into containers.

About 270,000 units have been shipped this time, which means that they will arrive in Japan in a month.

An exporter who witnessed the shipping process said, "I am delighted to be able to deliver truly eco-friendly wines to Japanese consumers."
