Barcelona captain Lionel Messi and Uruguayan Luis Suarez, Atletico Madrid striker, met for the first time after the latter's departure from Barcelona.

Despite his departure from Barca, the "pistolero" returned to Barcelona airport, to travel the two friends together to South America to participate with their countries' teams in the continent's qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Messi - whose penalty was canceled by the South American Football Association - will lead the "tango" team in the Ecuador and Bolivia matches.

As for Suarez, he will face the "Celeste" team of Chile and Ecuador.

It is noteworthy that the two last met an international match in November 2019, which ended in a 2-2 draw, and the two stars scored in the match.

Despite their travel together, Suarez will return to Madrid and the "Bolga" to Barcelona for the first time in 6 years.
