The Saudi-Emirati coalition announced on Monday evening that it had thwarted a naval attack launched by the Houthi group in the southern Red Sea, accusing the Houthis of threatening global trade in the Red Sea.

The coalition confirmed in a statement that it had destroyed an explosive marching boat near the port of Salif, and that it had "thwarted an imminent Houthi terrorist attack south of the Red Sea."

The statement indicated that "the Houthis continue to threaten global trade in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait."

The official Saudi Al-Ikhbariya website published a video clip showing the moment the boat was targeted, while the Houthi group has not commented on the news yet.
