According to the Kremlin press service, Putin spoke with Pashinyan about the urgent need to end hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"The discussion of the escalated armed confrontation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which has acquired a large-scale character and leads to serious losses on both sides, including casualties among the civilian population, is continued," the message says.
It is noted that "Putin again emphasized the urgent need for an end to hostilities."
Earlier it was reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.
