In the government of 25 members, the junta has at least 4 strategic portfolios: Defense, Security, the Territorial Administration which organizes the elections, and the Ministry of Reconciliation.

In this transitional government, very few places have been reserved for the traditional political class.

Members of armed groups involved in the peace process are also joining the new team.

We thus find at the important post of Agriculture a representative of the ex-rebellion, Mahmoud Ould Mohamed.

The Ministry of Youth is also held by a former rebel.

The M5 almost absent from the government

Relatives of Imam Mahmoud Dicko also figure in this government, in which there are several technocrats.

This is the case at the Ministry of Refoundation, occupied by Mohamed Coulibaly, an international consultant, notably for the UN.

On the other hand, there are hardly any representatives of the M5 protest movement in this team.

This government includes a total of four women.

Among them, Kadiatou Konaré, the daughter of former Malian President Alpha Oumar Konaré, who has made a name for himself in publishing, takes the head of the Ministry of Culture.
