UmeBrå writes in its interim report for the assignment "Umeå grows safely and securely" that insecurity at Ersboda has increased and the area police that SVT has spoken to believe that there is a culture of silence at Ersboda that is not visible at, for example, Ålidhem.

But Hussein Thamir says it is important to dare to engage in dialogue with those who live in the area.

- It is a completely different climate here than it is at Ålidhem, they may not really reach the people you are looking for here and then it will be a culture of silence or it is they who have strong opinions about the police and authorities who do not want to talk to them and then you have to break the ice, with association life or via other meeting places, says Hussein Thamir.

"Ask the children here, ask their parents"

Hussein Thamir says that they have young people who come to the activities from all over Umeå and that it is proof that many people think it is safe in Ersboda.

- I do not think that parents would let their children or young people go if it was unsafe here.

He believes that people should not be taken away from the fact that they may feel insecure, but that there is a risk that their voices will outweigh the debate.

- I think it is important to raise the voices of the residents, ask the children here, ask their parents, if they feel insecure how they could send their children to the leisure centers or to the trainings or the like.
