The attempted murder took place in an apartment in Sävsjö at the end of May this year, when the 33-year-old man stabbed another man in the stomach and neck with a knife and then left the scene.
He has admitted that he stabbed the man with a knife but believes that it happened in self-defense.
He is also convicted of aggravated assault on a woman after repeatedly beating his wife and pulling her hair.
The events occurred in February and March this year.
The district court sentenced to 12 years in prison and deportation for life.
