New strikes followed by explosions rocked the main city of the independence region of Karabakh this Sunday, October 4, in the grip of a conflict between Armenian separatists and Azerbaijani forces.

Warning sirens sounded around 9:30 am (5:30 am UT) in the city, just before the explosions multiplied.
The Foreign Ministry of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh republic said it was "
rocket fire
", according to the Russian agency Interfax.
In recent days, the city has suffered from many bombings of this type, forcing the population to hide in caves and shelters.
Since the night of Saturday to Sunday, Stepanakert has been deprived of electricity.
According to the local Foreign Ministry, Azerbaijani forces "
targeted the power grid building
" last night.
In the city center, however, the destruction remained limited, before the strikes resumed Sunday morning.
Retaliatory measures
For its part, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry claimed that "
Armenian forces are firing rockets at the towns of Terter and Horadiz, in the Fizuli region from Khankendi
", the Azerbaijani name of Stepanakert.

The Azerbaijani army has taken adequate retaliatory measures against the enemy,
" he said.
