Two men were on trial in immediate appearance on Friday for a vast drug trafficking operation in the region of Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d'Armor).

The investigation started on January 8 after the discovery of the lifeless body of a young man at his home in Yffiniac.

The overdose hypothesis was then quickly favored by the investigators.

After nine months of investigations, a judicial police operation was carried out on September 29.

It led to the arrest of ten individuals in Saint-Brieuc, Loudéac, Binic and Brest, we learned from the Côtes-d'Armor gendarmes.

Trafficking in several kilos of heroin and amphetamines

During searches, a

kilograms of heroin, 482 grams of herbal cannabis, 150 grams of cannabis resin, 138 grams of speed as well as a 12 gauge sawed-off shotgun and a loaded alarm pistol were seized.

The trafficking involves a total of nearly eight kilos of heroin and three kilos of amphetamines which have been sold since the start of the year, for an estimated gain of nearly 110,000 euros.

Already well known to justice, the alleged head of the network, aged 47, was sentenced Friday to ten years in prison.

His main accomplice, aged 25, was sentenced to four years in prison, one of which was suspended.
