China News Agency, Washington, October 3 (Reporter Chen Mengtong) White House doctor Sean Conley said on the 3rd that US President Trump has not had a fever in the past 24 hours, his blood pressure and heart rate are normal, and he does not need oxygen at present.

The White House medical team expressed optimism about the president's recovery.

Less than 24 hours after he was confirmed to have been infected with the new crown virus, Trump left the White House on the evening of the 2nd and went to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland for treatment. He continued to work in the president's office of the hospital.

At 11:40 on the 3rd, Conley and members of the President's medical team held a press conference at the medical center to report Trump's recovery.

On the afternoon of October 2, local time, US President Trump made his public appearance for the first time after being diagnosed with the new crown virus.

He took a flight from the White House to a military hospital in Maryland that afternoon.

Conley revealed that Trump received the first dose of Remdesivir in the hospital on the evening of the 2nd.

"Our plan is for a 5-day course of treatment. Because he is currently in a good condition, today's plan is to encourage him to eat, drink more, get up to work, and do something that will help him recover."

Remdesivir is an antiviral drug developed by Gilead Technology in the United States. It was originally planned to be used to treat diseases such as Ebola hemorrhagic fever and Middle East respiratory syndrome.

The drug is still in the research stage.

The US government issued an emergency use authorization on May 1, allowing the use of Redecive to treat severely ill patients with new coronary pneumonia.

When asked when Trump can be discharged from the hospital, Conley said that Trump is currently in a good condition, but according to the known course of illness, the 7th to 10th day after diagnosis is "the stage of inflammation that we are very worried about."

It is currently difficult to judge what stage Trump is in. The White House medical team will assess whether he needs to stay in the hospital every day.

Conley did not disclose too many details about when Trump developed fever.

But he confirmed that Trump did have fever from October 1st to 2nd, and "have no fever since the morning of the 2nd."

After the press conference, Trump praised the medical team at Walter Reid Medical Center through social media and said "I feel good with their help."

After the Trumps were diagnosed, many White House staff, reporters and Republican senators were also successively tested for the new crown virus.

These include Trump campaign manager Bill Stepin, former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, Republican National Committee Chairman Lenna McDaniel, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Republican Senators Mike Lee and Tom. Tillis.

Many of them attended the nomination event for Supreme Court justices held in the White House on September 26.

Senate Majority Leader McConnell announced on the 3rd that he will cancel the Senate vote in the next two weeks in view of multiple senators diagnosed.

However, the nomination hearing for the Supreme Court Justice Amy Barrett will still be held on October 12.
