The mayor of Nice calls the floods after storm Alex the worst in a century, reports Reuters.
When the storm reaches Sweden at the weekend, it will not be as intense.
- There will be rainfall between 20 and 50 millimeters, especially in the western parts of Götaland and Värmland, says SVT's meteorologist Nils Holmqvist.
The storm moves north during the day, and also offers strong gusts.
