02 October 2020US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania are both positive for Coronavirus.

Trump himself tweets: "The First Lady and I tested positive for Covid-19. Let's start the quarantine and the healing process right away. TOGETHER we will do it!".

Donald Trump was transported to the hospital "as a precaution".

White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said so.

"The president remains in a good mood, has mild symptoms and has been working during the day," he added.

The hospitalization at Walter Reed National Military Hospital will last "a few days", Trump will work from there.

According to the New York Times, the tycoon has a mild fever, cough, and nasal congestion. 

Immediately the administration number two, Mike Pence, was swabbed.

"The vice president tested negative," said White House staff.

Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, and wife Jill both tested negative for coronavirus.

A possible infection of Biden was feared during the fiery first televised debate with Trump.

The White House confirmed that it learned that Hope Hicks tested positive for Covid-19 before Marine One took off for New Jersey for a fundraiser in which President Donald Trump later took part.

Some of the president's staff have been recalled by Marine One, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows explained.

"I can tell you, on the Hope Hicks matter, that we found out just as Marine One was taking off yesterday," Meadows said.

"We actually called back some of the people who had traveled and in close contact with her."

Meadows said the White House acted swiftly to inform the public of the president's diagnosis.

"As you know, last night or early this morning, the moment we received a confirmation test on the president, we felt it was important to get the word out instantly, which is why we tweeted", he

added. 

To say that the White House knew that Hope Hicks was positive in the test but Donald Trump went to New Jersey yesterday for a fundraiser, it was CNN this morning who pointed out that yesterday the White House spokesman, Kayleigh McEnany, had held one of his rare press briefings, without wearing a mask and without saying anything about the diagnosis of Trump's adviser.

The president will remain in the White House during quarantine but "will continue to perform his duties," his doctor announced.

A trip to Florida, scheduled for Friday, has already been canceled.

Hope Hicks, 31, was aboard Air Force One with the President of the United States when he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, three days ago to participate in the debate against Joe Biden.

She also traveled with him on Wednesday when she visited Minnesota for an election rally.

US reporters noted that many of the president's staff apparently refused to wear a face mask in the room while attending the first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio.
