Trump himself tweets: "The First Lady and I tested positive for Covid-19. Let's start the quarantine and the healing process right away. TOGETHER we will do it!".

The president in hospital "as a precaution"

Donald Trump was transported to the hospital "as a precaution".

White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said so.

"The president remains in a good mood, has mild symptoms and has been working during the day," he added.

The hospitalization at Walter Reed National Military Hospital will last "a few days", Trump will work from there.

According to the New York Times, the tycoon has a mild fever, cough, and nasal congestion.

Vice President Mike Pence negative

Immediately the administration number two, Mike Pence, was swabbed.

"The vice president tested negative," said White House staff.

US media: Biden and wife negative for coronavirus

Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, and wife Jill both tested negative for coronavirus.

The CNBC reports it.

A possible infection of Biden was feared during the fiery first televised debate with Trump.

Election campaign events will be postponed or virtual

All Donald Trump's election events will be postponed or held virtually: this was announced by the campaign for the re-election of the American president after the news that he was hit by the coronavirus.

Hicks positive since Thursday, flew alongside Trump

Thursday Hope Hicks, one of Trump's advisors, tested positive at Covid-19.

On Tuesday and Wednesday he had flown alongside the president, first accompanying him to Cleveland where the first televised debate of the November presidential election campaign was held.

Then in Duluth, Minnesota, where Trump held an outdoor rally.

The White House confirmed that it learned that Hope Hicks tested positive for Covid-19 before Marine One took off for New Jersey for a fundraiser in which President Donald Trump later took part.

Some of the president's staff have been recalled by Marine One, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows explained.

"I can tell you, on the Hope Hicks matter, that we found out just as Marine One was taking off yesterday," Meadows said.

"We actually called back some of the people who had traveled and in close contact with her."

Meadows said the White House acted swiftly to inform the public of the president's diagnosis.

"As you know, last night or early this morning, the moment we received a confirmation test on the president, we felt it was important to get the word out instantly, which is why we tweeted", he

added.

To say that the White House knew that Hope Hicks was positive in the test but Donald Trump went to New Jersey yesterday for a fundraiser, it was CNN this morning who pointed out that yesterday the White House spokesman, Kayleigh McEnany, had held one of his rare press briefings, without wearing a mask and without saying anything about the diagnosis of Trump's adviser.

Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19.

We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately.

We will get through this TOGETHER!

The president will remain in the White House during quarantine but "will continue to perform his duties," his doctor announced.

A trip to Florida, scheduled for Friday, has already been canceled.

Hope Hicks, 31, was aboard Air Force One with the President of the United States when he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, three days ago to participate in the debate against Joe Biden.

She also traveled with him on Wednesday when she visited Minnesota for an election rally.

US reporters noted that many of the president's staff apparently refused to wear a face mask in the room while attending the first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio.

"As too many Americans have done this year, the President of the United States and I are also quarantined at home after testing positive for Covid-19. We feel good and I have postponed all the commitments. to stay safe and we'll get out together ": US First Lady Melania Trump tweeted on her account.

As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19.

We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements.

Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.

Abc: "Hope Hicks is sick"

Donald Trum's collaborator and adviser Hope Hicks "not only tested positive for coronavirus, but they also told us that she has symptoms. She is sick": the correspondent from the broadcaster's White House writes Use Abc.

The positivity of Hicks to Covid-19 is the immediate reason why President Trump and First lady Melania performed their respective tests, which in turn were positive, as communicated a little while ago by the US president himself with a tweet.

Hicks tested positive yesterday, but only on Tuesday she had traveled with Trump and Melania and other family members of the president to Cleveland for the TV debate with Joe Biden and then Wednesday in Minnesota for the election rally: all trips made together on the Air Force One or on the Marine helicopter, where there is no room for social distancing.

After Hicks was diagnosed with positivity, Trump continued to travel, going to New Jersey on a donor appointment yesterday.

While Hicks was swabbing yesterday, Trump was giving the Fox interview.

"You know I've spent a lot of time with Hope (Hicks), and the first lady knows it too," said Trump immediately after following his test in the evening and before knowing the outcome.

Now the problem also affects many other collaborators and family members of the president who have traveled with him or have been in close contact with him these days.

"The strength of the whole country is with President Donald Trump and the first lady. America is united. Our country remains strong. Your president will continue to put people first."

White House spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany tweeted it.

The strength of the entire country is with President @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS.

America stands united.

Our country stands strong.

Your President will continue to put the People first!

Cnn: let's face a buffer also in Biden

Greetings for a speedy recovery from around the world The

chorus of "speedy recovery" came from several world leaders, including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, European Council President Charles Michel, WHO head and Kremlin spokesman .

The comment of Gabriel Attial, a spokesman for the French government, struggling with a worrying surge in cases: the contagion of Donald Trump "shows that the virus spares no one, including those who have expressed skepticism".

Together with BoJo and the Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro - both ill and recovered from Covid - the head of the White House was among the political leaders who took a more 'relaxed' attitude regarding the health risks posed by the coronavirus and was extensively criticized for his speeches and meetings without a mask.

At 74 years of age and with obesity problems, Trump is among the categories at risk, so much so that CNN stresses that the diagnosis of Covid-19 represents "the most serious threat, in decades now, to the health of a US president in office ".
