02 October 2020US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania are both positive for coronavirus, based on the test performed.

Trump tweets it: "The First Lady and I tested positive for Covid-19. We begin the quarantine and the healing process immediately. TOGETHER we will succeed!".



Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19.

We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately.

We will get through this TOGETHER!

Hope Hicks, one of Trump's advisors, tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday he had flown alongside the president, first accompanying him to Cleveland where the first televised debate of the November presidential election campaign was held.

Then in Duluth, Minnesota, where Trump held an outdoor rally.
