A dizzying sensation 40 m above Maine.

The Porte-Vue, a new belvedere created by the Voyage à Nantes, will be inaugurated this Friday at Château-Thébaud, in the heart of the Nantes vineyards.

This “strange and complicated work”, designed by the architect Emmanuel Ritz, is a heavy metal structure (28 tons) hanging from the cliff.

It is deployed over 30 m long, including 20 above the void.

Easily accessible from the village center of Château-Thébaud, it offers visitors a unique panoramic view of the Pont-Caffino site, well known to hikers, kayakers and climbing enthusiasts, and of the vineyards of Maisdon-sur-Sèvre. .

"I took a slap when I discovered this place"

"The vineyard was part of the offer we wanted to offer tourists ...", explained Jean Blaise, director of Voyage à Nantes, during the presentation of the belévédère in February.

“I took a slap when I discovered this place with this exceptional view.

We immediately said to ourselves: “It's here!”

»Here, where it is good, Muscadet is king.

"This wine finds its place among the great wines of France and the artistic milestones of the route that we offer to Nantes residents and tourists say the singularity of the vineyard", adds Jean Blaise.

In project for more than four years, the Porte-Vue has come under criticism, even before its construction, because of its intrusive nature and its cost: nearly one million euros, supported by the communities.

As a reminder, the Gorges transporter bridge, another project imagined by the VAN in the vineyard, was abandoned at the end of 2018.
