Teachers revealed that the "distance education" system, which was necessitated by the health conditions resulting from the outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), dictated a new specialization in the field of education, which is the "follow-up teacher."

They explained that the role that falls on the new job holder is to accompany the child during the lessons, and to help him understand the lessons, noting that specialization is limited to females.

"Emirates Today" monitored advertisements requesting a "follow-up teacher" to accompany students during lessons "remotely", with a salary ranging between 3000 and 5000 dirhams per month, and advertisements from the other side of teachers offering their educational services that include following up children during lessons.

Doctors warned of the danger of receiving private teachers at home, pointing to the possibility that they could transmit infection with the Coronavirus to all family members, and endanger their lives.

In detail, teachers Muhammad Munther, Ziad Bashar, Mona Ghoneim and Dahabia Nuri emphasized that distance education has created a new specialization in the private lessons market that does not depend on educational experience as much as it relies on dealing with electronic learning platforms, noting that “the specialization is limited to females only. », Warning that distance education has revitalized private lessons in various forms, warning of a decline in the educational environment, and its return again to dependence on the private teacher.

They pointed out that some students 'families face challenges in integrating into the distance education system, including the lack of direct communication with the teacher, the weakness of speaking English, the lack of skills for the correct use of the Internet, and the dispersion in accessing information on school digital platforms, stressing that the students' parents lack confidence in their ability Support for their children limits their participation, especially since talking with the teacher during the lessons is in front of the rest of the students and their families, which exposes some of them to embarrassment.

"Emirates Today" spotted ads on social media, asking a teacher to accompany students at home during the morning shift (five days a week, two weeks a month, or three days a week).

And announcements were published from the opposite side, in which teachers indicated their willingness to work in the follow-up of students, indicating their commitment to precautionary measures to prevent corona virus, and to conduct a PCR examination before receiving work, while preserving the prevention measures that teachers adhere to in schools.

Moalinat confirmed that they have experience in dealing with young students, pointing to working in nurseries.

There are ads in the form of "a university graduate, fluent in English and dealing with computers, who can stay with the children for two days during the distance education classes, and help them with homework."

The families of students attributed their resorting to this type of lessons to several reasons, including the transfer of their children to full distance education, while their work conditions prevent them from staying with them in the morning shift.

The reasons included the presence of three or four children receiving education simultaneously, which prevents them from pursuing all of them.

Walaa Samir said that she and her husband work in the medical sector, and that the nature of their work is inconsistent with distance education, which necessitated the search for a teacher who would help their two daughters while receiving lessons, especially since they could not rely on themselves in dealing with computers.

"Umm Abdullah" indicated that she is the mother of four students, three of them in the first episode, adding that she cannot help them all at the same time.

She said that she hired a nursery teacher to follow her children, stressing that she was keen to take the necessary preventive measures while she was at home, as she was keen to ask her to sterilize her hands and wear a new muzzle.

The mothers of Maha Al Sabaa, Nili Hamed, Maani Hassan and Rabab Yassin confirmed that their weakness in English is an obstacle to their assistance to their children, as they are unable to understand the teachers during the class and the assignments required of the children, noting that the only solution to help their children is to provide a teacher to follow them and help them in solving their duties.

Leila Hammad, Marwa Saad, Manal Abdullah and Maysoon Yahya indicated that the distance education system conflicts with their working conditions in the private sector, pointing to their use of follow-up teachers.

They repeated their warning about the possibility of private teachers becoming a mobile carrier of the disease, noting that receiving them at home increases the possibility of infection with the virus.

10 thousand dirhams fine

Since last April, the Ministry of Education has banned all forms of remedial lessons that are offered to male and female students, and the practice of teaching by face-to-face teaching in homes, private places, and education centers designated for this purpose, with the exception of lessons that are offered remotely.

She attributed her decision to her commitment to apply preventive measures and precautionary measures to confront the emerging corona virus, which would preserve the security, safety and health of students in particular, and thus the safety and health of society.

Violating the ministry’s decision places the teacher and students under the updated regulation to control violations and administrative penalties, issued by the Cabinet’s decision to limit the spread of the Coronavirus, and the teacher's fine is 10 thousand dirhams, and the fine for each student is 5,000 dirhams.
