After US President Donald Trump confirmed Corona 19, Secretary of State Mike Pumpeo said he is reviewing the schedule of his visit to Asian countries, including South Korea.
Minister Pompeo told reporters that he is reconsidering his trip to Asia as a preventive measure following President Trump's corona19 confirmation on a flight from Rome, Italy to Dubrobony, Croatia, today (2nd), Reuters reported.
But he added that nothing has been decided yet.
Minister Pompeo has been on business trips to the Middle East and Europe since the 26th of last month.
Next, on the 4th to 8th, I will visit Asian countries such as Japan, Mongolia, and Korea.
Minister Pompeo said that the result of having a Corona 19 test with his wife on the plane was negative.
Also, the meeting with President Trump revealed that the 15th of last month was the last.
As of now, it is generally observed that it is unlikely that Secretary Pompeo will change the schedule for his trip to Asia.
If he last met President Trump on the 15th of last month, it's because more than two weeks have passed.
Foreign Ministry officials said, "We need to find out the position of the US side, but if he is still on business trips abroad and is not classified as a close contact, it is unlikely that his visit to Korea will be canceled."
According to Reuters, Japanese Secretary of State Kato Katsunobu also received a question from the media today and replied, "We currently do not know any changes regarding the planned visit of Minister Pompeo to Japan."
