When the corona pandemic broke out, the front doors were closed to protect the bus drivers - then the cheating increased and more and more people stopped paying for their trip.

In early September, UL expanded its ticket controls in order to get more people to pay for it.

After about a month, the effects have now begun to be seen.

- On the one hand, more people have to pay a control fee because they do not have a ticket.

We also see that more people buy their ticket, says Nikodemus Kylén, marketing manager at UL.

The cost: One million

Previously, UL spent just over SEK 670,000 per month on ticket checks.

The increased number of inspections means that that amount is now growing to one million kronor a month.
