The Community of Madrid will publish this afternoon in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) the resolution that will give birth to the closure of Madrid and that will detail the

measures

that the Ministry of Health has imposed on the regional government to contain the second wave of Covid-19.

When does the Madrid lockdown come into effect?

Tonight, after the Community of Madrid publishes

the resolution of Health in the BOCM.

The closure is expected to begin at 10:48 p.m., precisely at the exact time that the 48 hours that the central government has given the Executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso a deadline to implement the restrictive measures.

What areas will be affected?

The entire city of Madrid and nine other municipalities in the region: Alcalá de Henares, Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Fuenlabrada, Getafe, Leganés, Móstoles, Parla and Torrejón de Ardoz.

What can and cannot be done?

It will not be possible to leave and enter the affected municipalities except to go to work or study, to care for the elderly or dependents, to return to the habitual residence, to go to the doctor, to financial and insurance entities that cannot be postponed, legal proceedings or notarial, renewals of permits and official documentation, conducting exams and any other cause of force majeure that may be justified.

The citizens of these municipalities will be able to move within it with total freedom. By road, they may be crossed as long as the destination is not within the town. Social gatherings both outside and inside the homes are limited to six people maximum.

When do the bars and restaurants close?

The capacity of shops and hotels is set at 50% and places of worship, at a third.

The bars and restaurants must close at 23.00, although they will not be able to admit customers from 22.00 and they will not be able to use the bar.

What other restrictions are there?

Wakes are limited to 15 people outdoors and 10 indoors. Academies, driving schools and private teaching centers, as well as sports facilities, will also have a maximum capacity of 50%. It is also recommended that unnecessary trips are not made throughout the Community of Madrid.

Will the playgrounds be closed?

Finally they will not do it, according to the order published by the Ministry of Health in the BOE yesterday.

How will the closure affect the restrictive measures already in force in 45 areas of Madrid?

The regional government has not yet answered this question and at the moment it is unknown if the new measures will cancel the previous ones.

Will fines start from tonight?

No, the State Security Forces and Bodies will not be able to sanction any citizen who does not comply with the new ones until the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid ratifies the measures.

The last time, when the Community restricted 37 basic health zones, the court took four days to give the go-ahead.

Until this occurs, the agents will carry out informational work.

What is the police deployment going to be?

The City Council of the capital has requested help from the Government Delegation to carry out the controls, which will launch 700 agents between the National Police and the Civil Guard, while the Consistory will mobilize 250 municipal police.

How long will the restrictions last?

There is no closed date.

Theoretically, the resolution will cease to be applied a priori in the different localities when it ceases to meet one of the three parameters, which has more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, that the positivity is greater than 10% and that the ICUs are above 35 % Of occupation.
