British officials in action after the posting, on Twitter, of some photos and videos that appear to show a white whale in the Thames, one of the longest in the UK, although so far there is no evidence of the actual presence of the whale. The RSPCA's Animal Protection Group said it was "working with other agencies to monitor the situation" and offered its willingness to help. People were asked not to go near the whale, whose presence has been reported in the Gravesend area (County of Kent). The Thames, in addition to London, passes through several other British locations such as Oxford and Windsor
