Two women killed in an incredible outburst of violence in Paris

The alert came from a neighbor, frightened by the screams heard inside a small apartment in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.

A 29-year-old man, suspected of a double murder was arrested Wednesday, around 7.40 p.m.,

In the grip of a crisis of dementia, his condition was not considered compatible with police custody.

The main suspect was therefore taken to the psychiatric infirmary of the Paris police headquarters.

As soon as they enter this small building in Belleville, the police grasp the scale of the drama.

When they knock on the door, the man opens the door briefly, naked, covered in blood, but showing no visible sores.

They hear moans behind him.

But the madman closes the door almost immediately.

Behind the door, a scene of horror presents itself to them: in the middle of the living room upside down, lie two women in their forties, their faces swollen, half naked.

One of them is already dead, the second, in cardio-respiratory arrest, will die shortly after the arrival of help.

Identifications are still ongoing.

One of them would nevertheless probably be the madman's mother, specifies a source close to the investigation.

Arrested while he was in the kitchen, manipulating the gas stove and the oven, his custody was finally adjourned, the man making incoherent comments.

According to our information, the suspect, known for violence, was under psychiatric follow-up, in particular for attacks of dementia.

The investigation, for "intentional homicide", was entrusted to the 2nd district of judicial police.
