Sudan is asking the United States for 59 billion dollars for air services

Financial reviews conducted by Sudanese Civil Aviation revealed that Washington owes Khartoum $ 59 billion for the exploitation of air navigation services by American airlines and companies, over a period of 27 years.

The Director of Civil Aviation, Ibrahim Adlan, said, "The United States has not paid any claims since the first of March 1993 until today, which led to a doubling of claims until it reached $ 59 billion in assets and interest."

Adlan pointed out that "the civil aviation bill is calculated every 20 days, and in the event that payment is delayed, 4% interest is added, so that the calculation process begins again after 20 days."

He revealed, in documents and correspondence with a company in the Swiss capital, Geneva, responsible for collecting money from Sudan and the fees imposed on it, due to the embargo, as it confirmed to them the correctness of the amount that was calculated by a number of jurists.

Adlan stated that he "handed over a copy of the report to the American embassy in Khartoum, as well as to all state institutions represented in the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance to start recovering the money."
