"I have always seen Dorotea as the publishing star's rock star," says Eva Gedin, CEO of Norstedts, in a press release.

"She is a legendary publisher both in Sweden and the world and personifies everything that it means to be a passionate and enthusiastic publisher."

"True pleasure"

Dorotea Bromberg, who founded Brombergs together with her father Adam Bromberg in 1975, will continue within the organization as a senior publisher.

In a press release, she says that Brombergs will now be strengthened as a publisher: “Despite the pandemic, we have worked to a good result during the year and hope to continue that work together with Norstedts Förlagsgrupp.

It will be a real pleasure to work with enthusiastic publishers who know that quality pays off. ”

Dorotea Bromberg, who last year was awarded the London book fair's honorary award for "a significant imprint in global publishing", tells Dagens Nyheter that she is looking forward to what the new ownership can mean.

-I have been a publisher for 45 years.

I love working with writers and want to continue to do so.

But it depends on the age, I think it will be fantastic to devote more time to the authors and run companies less.

Eva Gedin good match

She also says that she is happy that it is Norstedts who buys, not least because she and Eva Gedin are a good match.

-We have known each other for many years and she has great respect for us as a publisher.

Bromberg's publication includes four Nobel Laureates (Isaac Bashevis Singer, Czeslaw Milosz, Octavio Paz and JM Coetzee) and many other big names such as Jonathan Franzen, Patti Smith, Ian McEwan, Nicole Krauss and Umberto Eco.

The parties have agreed that the purchase price will not be published.
