China News Service, October 1st reported that on October 1, local time, the armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh region entered its fifth day.

Many countries around the world called for a ceasefire between the two sides, but the two countries pointed to each other and opened fire on civilians and refused to start peace talks.

Azerbaijan’s President Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan will cease fire only if the Armenian armed forces withdraw from the Naka region.

On September 29, local time, soldiers were firing artillery shells in a group of frontline photos released by the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

In recent days, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Naka region has continued, causing hundreds of casualties, including civilians.

Both sides continue to launch the offensive

Currently, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Naka region continues.

The two sides continued to release information on attacks against each other's military installations.

According to information released by the Armenian military, Azerbaijan has lost 72 drones, 7 helicopters, 137 tanks, 1 aircraft and 82 military vehicles since the outbreak of the new round of conflict in the Naka region.

The Azerbaijani military said that the S-300 air defense missile system deployed by the Armenian army in the Naka region has been destroyed. At present, the number of Armenian military personnel has exceeded 2,000 casualties, as many as 130 tanks, more than 200 artillery, and other Heavy equipment was also destroyed.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan accused the Armenian army of using Dot-U tactical missiles during the conflict.

In this regard, the Armenian military denied it.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense stated that the information disseminated by the Azerbaijani media does not match reality. If the Azerbaijani side continues to spread similar information, Armenia will give a severe response.

On September 28, local time, a set of pictures provided by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs showed people living in underground air-raid shelters in the Nagorno-Karabakh area.

Unable to negotiate "the only ceasefire condition" in Azerbaijan

The analysis pointed out that if the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Naqqa escalates into a full-scale war, it may cause Turkey and Russia to fall into it.

However, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan stated on September 30 that due to the ongoing conflict, the tripartite talks between Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia cannot be held.

He said that it is necessary to create suitable conditions and atmosphere for negotiations.

Earlier, President Aliyev of Azerbaijan also stated that it is currently impossible to negotiate on the current situation.

Regarding the view of the ceasefire, Aliyev emphasized that the negotiations between the two countries on the Naka region have been fruitless, so there is no need for dialogue.

Aliyev said that the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the Naka region is the "only condition" for Azerbaijan, and only if this condition is met can Azerbaijan cease fire.

At the same time, he said that Azerbaijan can complete combat missions independently without the help of foreign military forces.

Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu said on September 30 that if Azerbaijan requests it, Turkey will take all necessary actions.

At the same time, he asked the international community to call on Armenia to withdraw its troops from the Naka region.

On September 27, local time, a new round of conflict broke out in Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Naka region. Both sides accused each other of violating the ceasefire agreement and taking the lead in launching a military offensive.

Call for a ceasefire, many countries express serious concerns

The United Nations Security Council held a closed-door meeting on September 29 to "express concerns" about the situation in Naqqa, condemned the use of force, and supported the ceasefire call by the United Nations Secretary-General Guterres.

At the same time, many countries around the world continue to call on the two sides to start negotiations.

French President Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed specific measures for further cooperation on the Naka situation during the phone call. The first is the OSCE Minsk team model.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on September 30, stating that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov had a phone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Bairamov and Armenian Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan on the same day to discuss the conflict in the Naka region.

The Russian side expressed serious concern about the continued hostilities in the region and called on relevant parties to cease fire as soon as possible to avoid escalation of tensions.

On the same day, Iranian President Rouhani had a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan and stated that wars and conflicts are not solutions to problems and disputes, but will only complicate the situation.

Rouhani emphasized during the call that regional peace and stability are the cornerstone of development, and the region can no longer withstand new wars.

The Naka region is located in southwestern Azerbaijan, and its residents are mostly Armenians.

After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan and Armenia broke out in a battle for Nagorny, and Armenia occupied Nagorny and its surrounding parts of Azerbaijan.

In 1994, Azerbaijan and Armenia reached an agreement on a comprehensive ceasefire, but the two countries have been in a state of hostility due to the Naka issue, and armed conflicts between the two sides have occurred from time to time.
