Appointed Prime Minister of Mali Sunday, September 27, Moctar Ouane has two immediate objectives.

The first is the formation of a government of national unity, with even the hope of seeing the participation of representatives of the armed groups involved in the peace process.

The second is to obtain, with the support of the transitional president, Ba N'Daw, the lifting of the embargo decreed by the West African Economic Community (ECOWAS) against Mali.

For the lifting of the embargo against Mali, the telephone is working a lot these days between Accra and Bamako, also between Abidjan and the Malian capital.

Here, we can recognize it, the Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo and his Ivorian counterpart Alassane Dramane Ouattara are among the heads of state of the ECOWAS who are most involved in quickly finding a solution.

According to our information, the Malian junta could quickly make a major concession: confine the role of the vice-president for defense and security issues in a final version of the transition charter.

Clearly, Colonel Assémi Goïta, the coup leader who occupies this post, could, as the ECOWAS demanded, relinquish the power to replace the transitional president in the event of impediment or force majeure.
