In Cayenne, a child dies after being forgotten in a car

A two-year-old child died on Tuesday in a vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Cayenne hospital center in Guyana.

One of her parents, employed at the hospital, was to drive her to the nursery in the morning but forgot her inside the car for part of the day, according to the first elements of the investigation.

A delay in question

The information took more than 24 hours to reach the judicial authorities.

Warned by the press, the national police had to send judicial police officers on the spot to have the death confirmed.

The prosecutor of the Republic of Cayenne, also warned Wednesday, said he was "surprised" at such a delay.
