In March 2020, the government decided on a national ban on visiting the country's nursing homes.

But as of Thursday, October 1, it ceased to apply and relatives can now visit their loved ones.

- It feels great.

It felt unusual to cross the threshold, says CO Magnusson, who visits her friend Ruth Miller at Kristinedal's nursing home.

But caution prevails, distance must be kept and hands washed.

But it is important for many to be able to receive visits.

- It is very difficult not to meet your loved ones and feel a hug or tenderness.

There were probably many who became depressed by it, so this will probably help many now, says Ruth Miller.

Are you not nervous about the risk of the infection entering the nursing home?

- I will probably keep my distance and not hug too much, maybe just a pat on the back.

You have to be a little careful.
