It is a spectacular night fire which took place in Blanc-Mesnil, in Seine-Saint-Denis.

A 7,000 m2 warehouse was ravaged by flames on Wednesday evening in the city's industrial zone.

The firefighters, however, indicated that the damage was only material, fortunately there were no victims.

The origin still unknown

The fire, the origin of which was not immediately known, broke out at the end of the evening in this area near the A3 motorway, located about ten kilometers north-east of Paris.

The blaze, fed by the many wooden pallets that were inside, "devastated and collapsed the entire warehouse," said a spokesman for the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) .

Nearly 150 firefighters and about 20 trucks were dispatched to the scene from 11:30 p.m., as the fire released huge columns of black smoke in the sky.

The fire was contained two hours later.

At around 1:45 am, the blaze was still active but the firefighters had ruled out any risk of the fire spreading to surrounding buildings, according to the spokesperson.
