A car and a tram collide in Lyon, two seriously injured

A car and a tram collided at the crossroads of Debourg and Tony Ganier avenues in Lyon.

Two men, 23 and 25, who were in the car, were seriously injured.

They had to be extricated before being rushed to Edouard Herriot hospital, we learned from Sytral this Thursday morning.

The tram was cut in three to be evacuated piece by piece using a crane.

Avenue Tony-Garnier was cut off to traffic for much of the morning.

This created major traffic jams in the area.

TCL traffic is expected to resume at midday in the area.
