China News Service, September 30. According to Afghan Dawn News TV, Zalme Khalilzad, the US special envoy for Afghanistan, is on his way to Doha, Qatar.

Currently, the Taliban and the Afghan government are negotiating in Doha, trying to find a way to end the 19-year war.

  Khalilzad stated on his personal social media that during his visit to Doha, he will meet with partners at the peace talks and look forward to the prospects of strengthening regional connectivity, trade and development after peace is achieved.

  He also said that the international community and the Afghan people are paying attention and expecting that the negotiating team can make progress on a permanent ceasefire.

  According to reports, the last time the contact group of both parties to the peace talks met was on the evening of September 28, local time.

The negotiator said that the meeting lasted for several hours but failed to reach agreement on the rules and regulations.

  In mid-September, the Afghan government and the Taliban launched the first direct dialogue in decades.

However, during the negotiations, violence still occurred frequently.
