In order to be able to diagnose heart failure, in addition to typical symptoms, access to imaging and functional diagnostic methods is also required.

This often leads to repeated hospital visits for the patient.

Sara Svedlund, specialist doctor and associate professor of clinical physiology and research manager for the project at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, believes that the Heart Bus now shortens the visiting hours, but that it also gets closer to the patient.

"Can answer important questions"

What do you hope to achieve with this project?

- We believe that we will be able to find causes for a certain type of heart failure that we are interested in.

And it is a type of heart failure where the heart has a preserved pumping ability but a reduced ability to relax.

We believe that, among other things, by mapping coronary artery function with ultrasound, we can answer some important questions that we have asked ourselves, says Sara Svedlund.

It is about provoking the heart with a drug that simulates physical exertion while examining the blood flow in the coronary arteries with ultrasound on the outside of the chest.
