A conservative will preside over Chamber III of the Supreme Court and two progressive judges will occupy the position where they judge the graduates
There were no surprises and the conservative and progressive group of the General Council of the Judiciary respected the agreement they reached yesterday to appoint six key positions in the Supreme Court, as EL MUNDO advanced.
In a first vote, justices Ángel Hurtado, Javier Hernández and Leopoldo Puente Segura were appointed by a comfortable majority of 19 votes, according to sources in the Plenary.
Only two members, Álvaro Cuesta and Concepción Sáez, voted blank, which represents a very important quorum within the governing body of the judges.
The conservative César Tolosa was appointed new president of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the High Court while magistrate María Luisa Segoviano won the presidency of the Social Chamber and Jacobo Barja de Quiroga with that of the Military by 19 votes.
