Earlier, the zoo launched a public solicitation of fawn names from netizens on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The names required to be concise, generous, and creative.

In order to give Xiaolu a good name, netizens "quite hard."

Some netizens named the deer "Bambi", which means that it thrives like "Bambi".

Some netizens named Xiaolu "Pingping", taken from "Yoyou Luming, Ping of Shiye".

In the end, after careful selection by experts, the name "Mingming" which means "blockbuster" was adopted, and the names "Nine Nine" and "Handsome" won the finalists of the naming event.

On August 28 this year, the male deer "Mingming" was born on Liugong Island in Weihai. His parents were the sika deer "Fanxing" and "Diandian" that Taiwan presented to the mainland in 2011.

Over the past nine years, Taiwan sika deer "Diandian" has conceived 9 children on Liugong Island.

Fang Jiacheng, a keeper at the Liugong Island Rare Zoo, told reporters that Mingming is lively and active. He has learned to run from his mother. At present, besides breast milk, he can also eat some fresh leaves and small concentrates.

At the same time, Mother Deer is in good condition.
