The Ministry of Defense said, "There were no terms such as'kill' or'shoot' in the information obtained by our military in relation to the case of Lee Mo, an official of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries who was shot and killed by the North Korean military."

The Ministry of Defense explained, "The circumstances that would have been shot and burned were the result of a comprehensive analysis of fragmentary pieces of intelligence, which were reconstructed after a considerable amount of time."

At the same time, he expressed regret for "some media that reported as if the military did not respond to anything, even though the military knew everything in real time as if watching a CCTV without understanding the intelligence process."

He also emphasized, "The indiscriminate disclosure or random processing of sensitive intelligence information of the military not only causes a lot of obstacles to our military's mission performance, but also does not contribute to security at all."
