September 30, 2020The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, has arrived in Rome for a visit during which he will meet Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin and will have a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.

This morning a conference on religious freedom organized at the Excelsior hotel by the US embassy to the Holy See.

On that occasion Pompeo will see the Vatican head of relations with states, Monsignor Richard Gallagher, before an interview on Thursday with the secretary of state Pietro Parolin.



The morning will then continue at Palazzo Chigi, where Pompeo will meet Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and then move to the Farnesina for an interview with Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.

Also in this case there are many dossiers on the table, from the fight against the coronavirus pandemic to Libya, but in the foreground there is the 5G game that is so dear to the US administration.



Pompeo's visit to Rome will end on Thursday in the Vatican with a meeting with Parolin preceded by a visit by the US secretary of state to the Community of Sant'Egidio.
