According to reports, shortly after the incident, French police quickly arrested two suspects, one of whom was a Pakistani man.

On the 29th, the chief prosecutor of the case Ricard said at a press conference that the man was carrying three bottles of flammable paint thinner.

He stated that the man spent three days scouting the area shortly before the attack and bought knives on the day of the attack.

Ricard said: “The suspect’s initial plan was to enter the magazine’s office and then set it on fire.” He added that the suspect came near the former site of Charlie Hebdo and after seeing the two victims, he thought they were the magazine. Employees, therefore attacked them.

According to reports, the man acted in a fake identity. The passport photo on his mobile phone showed that he was 25 years old instead of 18 as he said.

The headquarters of Charlie Hebdo was attacked by terrorists on January 7, 2015.

Twelve people were killed in the attack and 11 others were injured.

French Prime Minister Castay previously revealed that the knife attack took place at a "symbolic location", not far from the mural to commemorate the victims of the 2015 "Charlie Hebdo" terrorist attack.
