"It looks provocative that this time the high rostrum of the UN was used to reproduce groundless claims about the alleged use of a chemical warfare agent prohibited by the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons against Navalny for the purpose of poisoning him," the message says.

As noted, Moscow perceives these "public fabrications" as "a continuation of Berlin's openly hostile anti-Russian line" on this issue.

According to diplomats, in this way the German authorities are trying to shift the responsibility for their unwillingness to interact with the Russian side onto others, hiding behind the backs of allies and international structures.

The ministry stressed that this "attack" is especially cynical against the background of ignoring the requests of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office for legal assistance. 

Speaking at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, Maas said that Germany sees a violation of the ban on the use of chemical weapons in the situation with Navalny.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced violations by the OPCW technical secretariat.
