“According to the information received, militants of illegal armed groups, in particular from Syria, Libya, are being transferred to the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in order to directly participate in hostilities,” the message says.
The ministry stressed that they are deeply concerned about these processes, which lead not only to further escalation, but also create long-term threats to the security of all regional countries.
The diplomats called on the leadership of the states concerned to take measures to prevent the use of foreign terrorists and mercenaries in the conflict and their immediate withdrawal from the region.
Earlier, the Kremlin said that any statements about military support for one of the parties provoke aggravation.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in telephone conversations with Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, called for an immediate ceasefire.
