Six months suspended prison sentence and one year banned from practicing medicine.

This is the sentence handed down by the Toulouse Criminal Court against a 64-year-old anesthesiologist.

He was sued for unintentional injuries during an operation carried out in a clinic in Escalquens, south-east of Ville Rose, on April 19, 2019.

According to

La Dépêche du Midi

, the patient victim explained having felt "a pain that had become unbearable, horrible" during the operation, but he could "neither move nor speak".

The offending doctor was then absent - "to satisfy a natural need" according to him - and could not be found immediately.

He would have used curare, but not other products, especially painkillers.

"I didn't make a mistake"

It was a nurse anesthetist who had to intervene to calm the patient, who said he was still suffering from psychological consequences.

The sixty-year-old accused, for his part, assured: “That day, I made no mistake.
