The tag discovered on the premises of the association -

The LGBT + 66 association, in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), filed a complaint at the police station on Wednesday, after the discovery of a homophobic tag on the facade of its premises.

The inscription “Anti PD, LGBT, No to decadence” was written with a black bomb near the entrance of the association, in the city center of the Catalan capital.

“For the first time in two years that we have occupied our premises (…), these were the subject of an inscription by tag on the wall next to our access door, deplores Jean-Loup Thevenot, the president of the association, on Facebook.

The association sees in this a development of reactions against its militant actions and its multiple interpellations, sometimes without answers, to political or institutional leaders.

Our association receives more and more people (…), victims of verbal insults or damage to their property of a homophobic nature.

We are on the side of the victims and nothing and no one will prevent us in the pursuit of our activities.

"

SOS Homophobie Languedoc-Roussillon “strongly” condemned these actions, “which are unfortunately not isolated in Languedoc-Roussillon”.

“As we highlighted in 2020, LGBT + phobic acts are on the increase,” says the association.
