North Korean Ambassador to the United Nations Kim Seong said, "We cannot sell the dignity that we have preserved like our life for a brilliant transformation."

Ambassador Kim said in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters in New York, "Peace can be defended only if we have the absolute power to curb war."

Ambassador Kim also said that peace on the Korean Peninsula is being defended because North Korea has war deterrent, but it is interpreted as a remark that in fact, it cannot give up nuclear weapons for economic compensation.
