Two employees use their work to falsify the results of the examination «Covid-19»

The spokesperson for the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Prosecution at the State Public Prosecution stated that two employees were arrested in one of the examination centers on charges of exploiting their jobs and the powers granted to them in falsifying the results of the examination of "Covid-19" in exchange for money.

He explained that within the framework of the efforts made by the state authorities to combat the disease (Covid-19), limit its spread, and follow up on citizens and residents' commitment to the instructions decided by the competent authorities, the Dubai Police General Command has seized employees working in one of the examination centers and referred them to the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Prosecution.

For their exploitation of the powers granted to them to falsify the results of the "Covid-19" examination of some people for a financial fee, by using images of negative test samples previously saved in the database of other uninfected persons, with the aim of using negative examination results to enter the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

He said that the actions of the two accused constitute crimes that carry a penalty of up to temporary imprisonment and a fine of not less than 150,000 dirhams and not exceeding 750,000 dirhams, and that legal measures have been taken against the accused employees, and the State Prosecutor has ordered their preventive detention pending investigations.

The spokesman affirmed that the Public Prosecution will take legal measures against anyone who does not abide by the laws, procedures and precautionary measures related to limiting the spread of the "Covid-19" disease or who tries to exploit his position and the powers granted to him to tamper with the results of the examination or profit from them, in order to protect the health and safety of members of the UAE community. And support government efforts in the country to contain the repercussions of the "Covid-19" pandemic and limit its effects on various aspects of health, economic and social life.

The State Attorney General has ordered the pretrial detention of the accused pending investigations.
