Irish international full-back Rob Kearney, 34, who had announced his departure from Leinster and international retirement, has signed up with the Western Force for a year, the Australian rugby franchise announced on Tuesday.

"I am very excited to immerse myself in a new performance environment and play both with and against players who are some of the best in the Southern Hemisphere," Kearney said in a Western statement. Strength.

Kearney, who so far has only known one team, Leinster, has won four European Cups (2009, 2011, 2012, 2018) with the Irish province.

He has also triumphed four times in the Six Nations Tournament (2014, 2015, Grand Slams in 2009 and 2018) with the XV of Clover.

He has also participated in three World Cups (2011, 2015, 2019), during which the Irish stopped each time during the quarter-finals.

Kearney is expected to rally his new team for pre-season preparation later this year, the Western Force said.
