The Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, announced yesterday that Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will take the constitutional oath before the National Assembly, Emir of the State of Kuwait, in a special session of the Council, today.

Al-Ghanim said, in a press statement, that he met with the Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, with Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and added: “During the meeting, we listened to the directives of Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad, and it was decided to invite the National Assembly to hold a special session at 11 am. During which His Highness will take the constitutional oath in accordance with the text of Article 60 of the Constitution. ”

Yesterday, the Kuwaiti Cabinet had called for Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, pursuant to the provisions of the constitution and Article 4 of Law No. (4) of 1964 regarding the rulings of the emirate's inheritance. The council said that Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad was known for "wisdom and chastity," And sincerity and dedication to everything that includes the elevation, interest, security and prosperity of Kuwait.

This came in a statement issued by the Council of Ministers after its extraordinary meeting, yesterday evening, at Seif Palace, headed by His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, and followed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Anas Al-Saleh.
