As of today, the regional government of Isabel Díaz Ayudo is conducting antigen tests in basic health areas with the highest incidence of coronavirus.

Today was Puente de Vallecas' turn.

"Yesterday I received the text message to come and take the test. I'm not worried, I think they should have done this a long time ago. It was about time!", Says Sergio, one of the almost 1,000 people who today will be able to access antigen tests in the Puente de Vallecas health area, one of the areas with the highest transmission of Covid-19 in the entire Community.

"I'm not

worried

,

what I'm interested in knowing what my results will be because with the situation we have, we are all concerned about the family above all

,

" says

María Ángeles before entering the Lope de Vega Cultural Center, in Entrevías, where the tests take place.

She does not live alone, she lives with her family.

At the moment none have the virus,

but in the first wave it had close cases of people who were affected by the disease.

A health worker performs the test on a neighbor.

Hipólito Moreno arrives at the scene at 11:00 am without symptoms.

His wife has also been summoned, but at 5:00 p.m.

"I'm not nervous.

I think we should all come to find out if we are infected or not," he says.

At 11:15 a.m., three hours after the start of the device, barely fifty people entered.

"People arrive in the morning by droppers, but throughout the day we expect more to come," says Cristino Del Campo, SUMA 112 Guard supervisor. The operation will continue until 9:00 p.m. today.

The tests carried out today are "similar to PCR", but in which it is possible to know whether or not the person has antibodies and if they are asymptomatic in just 20 minutes.

"It is much better than rapid tests and just as effective as PCR," explains Del Campo.

To those mentioned, the swab or swab is introduced into the nose and

the sample is extracted.

People have to wait 15-20 minutes to know their result.

If positive, a team of nurses explains to the neighbors the procedure to follow and people are asked to remain in isolation.

Pepe took the test first thing in the morning and it came out negative.

Now he returned to his wife to have her tested.

"I thought they were going to prick me or something, but no. They

have put a swab in my nose, it's annoying, but hey. Now I'm calm knowing that I don't have the virus," he says.

In total, the regional government acquired five million tests of this type that will be carried out in the 45 areas with mobility and activity restrictions, as prevention against the pandemic.

With these tests, the regional community to detect the asymptomatic population and cut the transmission chains in the places with the highest incidence of coronavirus.
